The Leica DISTO™ S910 is the first laser distance meter that captures multiple, accurate measurements in three-dimensions from a single location. This alone radically improves the efficiency of common measuring tasks you encounter on a day-to-day basis. The key hardware innovation in the S910 is the SmartBase. The SmartBase is a bi-axial pivot integrated with the circuit board that allows you to stand back from your target to measure the distances and angles between multiple points.
The SmartBase technology facilitates three new remote measurement functions:
- Point to Point (P2P) – Measure the tie distance between 2 points, even hundreds of feet from your target. Simply measure your first point, then second point and you are displayed the distance between them. Users can gather widths, heights, diagonals, gaps, etc.
- Smart Area – Shoot the corners of any polygon to determine the area of complex shapes
- Smart Angle – Shoot 3 points to measure any angle
The S910 is optimally used with a tripod for the majority of its measuring functions. The S910 includes a metal insert for a ¼” tripod thread (5/8” adaptors available). Using a tripod coupled with the FTA 360-S adaptor (fine tuned micro-adjustable tripod adaptor) allows for precise long distance measurements.
The Leica DISTO S910 is compatible with mobile apps through Bluetooth technology and exports .DXF files over WiFi.
